When talking to our clients about how they can best promote themselves, we always recommend that they seek testimonials from their customers – these really help to demonstrate why they’re the right people for the job at hand. In the interests of taking our own medicine, here’s a great example of some of the work that we’ve been up to recently.
When Intelligent Counting (iC) wanted to update the design of their website but found that they no longer had the capacity to carry out the work in house, they turned to MMD. Working with a demanding brief and high expectations, we pulled out all the stops to ensure that iC’s new website and branding really delivered the wow factor.
Client: Intelligent Counting – the company provides people counting software and solutions to the retail, museum and visitor attraction sectors. Many of their customers are household names, including the likes of the Science Museum, the V&A and Molton Brown.
Challenge: Intelligent Counting’s website had been built in house. It had been designed some time ago, was difficult for non-technical people to update and was not mobile responsive. The company was preparing for a major software launch, and saw this as an ideal time to develop a new website to showcase their new software.
Intelligent Counting (iC) has a strong technical team and were struggling with the idea of outsourcing something they had always handled themselves. However, they recognised that due to time constraints it was necessary and appointed Mass Media Design to help.
What we did: Having talked to the client about the plans for the business and learned more about how they deliver their services to their customers, we recommended talking to some of their customers.
This feedback gave us a great insight into how the firm was perceived by iC’s customers and what they valued about their offerings. This in turn enabled us to determine the best navigation and structure of the website and develop a design which reflected these values. We suggested returning to the company’s core branding colours and also wrote suitable content for the new website to appeal to their target audience. Finally we collected a number of testimonials from the company’s impressive portfolio of clients in order to further appeal to prospective customers.
The website was built on the WordPress platform in order to ensure maximum future flexibility and a fully mobile responsive implementation. We also included sign-in integration with iC’s software so customers could easily access their service portal from the website.
At all stages, we ensured that we kept the company updated with our proposals and design drafts and listened carefully to all comments, concerns and suggestions in order to maximise iC’s input into their new site.
Following launch, we continue to provide support and hosting services for the website.
Results: The client was absolutely delighted with the new site. They were so pleased with the imagery and revised branding that they have subsequently asked us to create new marketing collateral for them. We continue to work with iC on gaining feedback from customers and obtaining approved testimonials, as well as other marketing projects.
